How much do you charge for delivery? [back to top]
We charge $10.95 to deliver from any one of our restaurants. Drivers gratuity is not included in this price and would be greatly appreciated. SLC Waiter adds 15% gratuity for all orders over $100.00.
What is your delivery area? [back to top]
Our boundaries cover the majority of the Salt Lake Valley and are as follows:
North boundary: 2300 N. South boundary: 11400 S.
East boundary: 4500 E. West Boundary: 6000 W.
Salt Lake City Waiter will charge an additional $4.95 to go further than these boundaries.
Why do you confirm the online order by phone? [back to top]
There are often subtle items that may need clarification on your order, such as condiments needed, any gate codes or delivery address information, as well as elimination of possible fraud. We will contact you within minutes of your internet order (or well before your advanced order) to confirm the items and details of your order. You may include a cell phone number for confirmation, but we will always require a personal confirmation of the details for each order. If we are unable to speak to the person who has placed the order or who is going to pay for the order, it will be canceled.
How long does it take for delivery? [back to top]
Because each item is specially prepared to your order, delivery normally takes about an hour. Occasionally, an order may take longer due to a variety of reasons, such as larger orders, unusually busy restaurant kitchen, and traffic and road conditions. Customers with large delivery orders or time constraints are encouraged to place their orders in advance to ensure timely delivery. During the Confirmation Call, your Customer Representative will give you the details on the time for delivery.
What forms of payment are accepted? [back to top]
We gladly accept cash, money orders, and the following credit cards: Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. If you are paying by credit card, please have the card number ready for your operator. Unless special arrangements have been made with our Customer Service Representatives, all credit cards MUST be physically present for manual imprint at the time of delivery. We only accept checks under pre-approved conditions.
Salt Lake City Waiter also sells and accepts SLC Waiter Gift Cards.
How much should I tip my Delivery Driver? [back to top]
At Salt Lake City Waiter, we feel that your Waiter/Drivers go to as much effort as a food server in a restaurant, probably more! They go to extensive measures to ensure your meal is complete and correct; they check, pack, carry, drive, locate you and park with your meal as fast and as carefully as possible. They sometimes use their own vehicles, equipment and gasoline. Most customers tip at the same rate they would to a server in a restaurant, from 10% to 15%. For larger orders (over $100) and corporate billed accounts, we include a 15% gratuity. While the delivery charge goes to the company, your gratuity goes directly to your Delivery Driver.
Can I cancel my order? [back to top]
If we have not placed your order with the restaurant, we are able to cancel any order until then. Orders cannot be canceled once they are placed with the restaurant. Online orders will be confirmed by phone before being placed; if confirmation cannot be completed, the order will be canceled by default.
Can I place orders for a date other than today? [back to top]
Yes, absolutely. It is recommended to do so for larger orders, and orders that are needed to be delivered at a specific time. Weekday lunch times fill up fast and it is recommended to place your 12:00 lunch order at least the day before if possible.
Is there a minimum amount required to order? [back to top]
No. We do charge a $10.95 delivery fee for each delivery. At Salt Lake City Waiter, we feel that if you’re willing to pay the delivery fee, we are willing to deliver your order.
Can I use coupons? [back to top]
Yes. From time to time, Salt Lake City Waiter offers coupons in the front of our Menu Guide. You are able to enter the coupon at checkout; however, we are not able to subtract the coupon amount from your online order total. Any coupons will be subtracted from your total when the Customer Service Representative contacts you.
We are not able to accept coupons provided by any of our Restaurants.
Can I order from a restaurant that is not listed on your site? [back to top]
No. We are only able to deliver from restaurant that we have contracts with. If you are interested in having a specific restaurant added to our service, please let us know.
Can I order from more than one restaurant? [back to top]
No. At this time, we do not allow you to order online for multiple restaurants. The reasons behind this are the quality of food may be compromised, cost of delivery is increased, and because the time it takes to get to multiple restaurants results in longer wait times for the customer. We feel that the quality of the food is most important and therefore are unwilling to diminish our standards.
Can I order drinks from a restaurant? [back to top]
Some restaurants have specialty drinks that we are able to deliver. Salt Lake City Waiter sells 2 Liters of soda and Mount Olympus bottled water instead of delivering those items from restaurants.
Can I order alcoholic drinks? [back to top]
No. Utah state law prohibits retail delivery of alcohol.
Can I view past orders placed? [back to top]
Yes. Login to your account and you may view any online order that you have placed with SLC Waiter.
What happens if I place an order while your office is closed? [back to top]
A SLC Waiter Customer Service Representative will contact you as soon as we open the following day to take care of any orders received overnight.
How do you pay? There is not a place to enter credit card or other payment information on the web site. [back to top]
Payment is accepted at time of delivery. During your confirmation call, the Customer Service Representative will ask what payment method you would like to use. If you are paying by credit card, the Customer Service Representative will collect the necessary information. When your order arrives, you will need to present the credit card to the Delivery Driver so that they may complete the transaction. Credit cards must be present at time of delivery, no acceptions.
